2026 BFA Drama, Costume Design

Sukie Wang is a costume designer and interdisciplinary creative working at the intersection of performance, technology, and embodied storytelling. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Theater Design & Production with a minors in Game Design & Animation.

Her design includes material crafts in structural and digital processes. Sukie have previously designed costumes for The Little Prince (2026), The Grown-Ups (2025),If the Shoe Fits… (2025), and Camel Xiang Zi (2024). Through her work, she focuses on character-driven construction, audience embodiment, and material experimentation that encourages movement and narrative clarity.

Beyond theater, Sukie explores character and costume design in digital environments. She previously worked as a Character Animation Intern at Hypergryph, where she translated real-world garment patterns into digital workflows through modeling, rigging, and shading to reflect character costume accurately. At Shanghai Dramatic Art Center, she supported a world-premiere production which integrated robotic performers. She worked to coordinate costume design with robotic movement to ensure safe and seamless stage interaction.

Sukie is deeply interested in how costume helps to craft physical performance and stage presence. She is passionate about creating and building garments that respond to movement while supporting the collaborative rhythm and practical demands of live theater.

To stay creative and balanced for her design practice, she also enjoys water sports such as swimming, diving, and surfing, and holds certification from the International Surfing Association.
