Samantha Pazos is a director- choreographer from Miami, FL, whose work is shaped by her Cuban and Colombian roots. Her theatre-making, choreographic practice, and filmmaking blur the boundaries between the real and the magical, engaging with themes of displacement, exile, identity, language, and memory.
Samantha holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Florida State University. Her dance training stems from The Ailey School, José Mateo Ballet Theatre, American Dance Festival, Ballet Concerto, and Patricia Penenori Dance Center. Her past work has been featured at the DUMBO Dance Festival, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Asolo Rep with Sarasota Contemporary Dance, Nancy Smith Fichter Theatre (FSU), and Miami Light Project as part of Here & Now Festival, ScreenDance Miami Film Festival, and the Jerry Herman Ring Theater (UM).
Her theatre credits include: The Amparo Experience, A New Brain, Godspell, The Three Musketeers, Romeo & Juliet (NOLA Shakes), The Frogs, Spring Awakening, and The Night Governess. She has worked alongside playwright and director, Nilo Cruz, as an associate director on the 20th anniversary production of Anna in the Tropics (Miami New Drama), Two Sisters & a Piano (Miami New Drama), A Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-Time (Jerry Herman Ring Theatre), and Sotto Voce (GableStage). Her CMU credits include Lorca in a Green Dress and The House of Bernarda Alba.
Up next, Samantha is set to direct her short film, Cinco y sueños, this summer with a full cast and crew of Miami locals. She will also serve as the choreographer and intimacy choreographer for the upcoming production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, adapted by Jeffrey Whitty and directed by Kim Weild, at the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
