Magnolia Luu

Stage and Production Manager

2025, she/her BFA Drama, Stage and Production Management

Magnolia is a manager seeking experiences in a wide array of career paths. She is graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA in Stage and Production Management and a minor in Physical Computing. Originally from Dallas, she began her journey as a technical director and stage manager.

At CMU, Magnolia expanded her skills through various production management roles, work on the costume accounting team, and scenic painting for the ’24-’25 season.

While her main focus has been in production and project management, Magnolia has a curiosity for learning in all directions. Her physical computing minor gave her hands-on experience with electronics, circuits, and software, helping her explore how these tools work within both production technology and personal projects. She also served as a project manager for the development of a cybersecurity application at the agriTech company Syngenta.

She has worked on operas, musicals, theatre, and events, but she has a particular passion for dance and grand, visually striking performances. Outside of work, Magnolia is an avid reader and stained glass artist.
