Kiana Carbone, originally from northern New Jersey, is a third-year Stage & Production Management Graduate Student at Carnegie Mellon University, with an undergraduate degree in Communication in Performance Studies from Villanova University.
Having worked on eight productions over three years, some of her work at Carnegie Mellon includes Stage Manager – In The Red and Brown Water, Production Manager – Hurricane Diane, Stage Manager – Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play. Her previous professional work includes Season Assistant Stage Manager at Porthouse Theater, Production Assistant – Romeo and Juliet at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Arts Education Fellow/Assistant Stage Manager at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
Her time at Carnegie Mellon has also included co-piloting and teaching a course called “Theatre Process for Non-Majors.” Created with the goal to increase Non-Drama students’ appreciation and awareness of the theatrical production process.
At Villanova University she was a Stage and Production Manager for Villanova Student Theatre, a student run theatre organization. She is also a founding member of NovaNoise, the university’s Tap Dance Ensemble, where she was an executive board member and choreographer.
When not managing a stage or production, Kiana can be found listening to music, cross stitching or watching Women’s Hockey. With additional passions for education, dance and community-fueled performance, she is interested in working with arts education programs, dance companies, and in higher academia.
