Kejia Yu is a scenic designer whose work is grounded in empathy and keen observation. She is passionate about exploring human emotions and cultural influences, weaving them into compelling environments that enhance storytelling. Believing that scenic design shapes the audience’s experience, Kejia transforms spaces into immersive extensions of a narrative.
Born and raised in China, Kejia has a background in interior and furniture design, which gives her a strong foundation in three-dimensional spatial design. Passionate about visual storytelling, she strives to craft environments that invite exploration and connection.
Her skills extend beyond theater to film, television, and event design. She continues to investigate how set design impacts the experience in various media. She is also interested in concept art and illustration for productions. Her recent work includes Armida at Pittsburgh Opera and The Inseparables at CMU.
