2026, any BFA Drama, Scenic Design

Katie Welker is a scenic designer, props artisan, and model maker. They are passionate about tending to all the little details in everything they work on. They also put collaboration at the forefront of every process that they are a part of.

In addition to her upcoming BFA from Carnegie Mellon, Katie has also received an Associates in Art for Theater at Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Katie considers TCC to be where their love for all things scenic design began. Throughout their time at both schools Katie has designed scenery for three shows: Hurricane Diane (2026), Mary-Kate Olsen is in Love (2025), and Miss Alma’s Rules (2022). Katie has also worked in the School of Drama prop shop throughout all four years of their time at CMU collecting skills along the way.

Outside of theater, Katie can be found cross stitching while watching hockey (Let’s go Pens!), or rewatching When Harry Met Sally (for the gazillionth time).
