Jessica Elizabeth Williams

2025, she/her BFA Drama, Production Technology

Jessica Elizabeth Williams is a fourth year student in the Production Technology program. She grew up in the community theatre scene of the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. She became interested in theatre technology and management when she became the resident lead technician at her first theatre for several years with little to no guidance. There she discovered the joy of applying her adaptability and strategic thinking skills to technical and managerial problems. She completed high school in central Virginia where she worked in multiple positions at the regional theatre, Wolfbane Productions.

At CMU she attained first hand experience in team management, budgeting, fabrication of set electrics, implementation of full scale lighting and sound systems, and the overall intensive problem solving skills that are necessary in the entertainment industry.
She also explored experience in sound design, lighting design, repair of advanced equipment, and woodworking.

In her free time she enjoys whittling, writing sci-fi, embroidery and comic books. During her time at CMU, she served as the Education Chair of CMU’s Hillel and Jewish Feminism Club as well as working as an outreach coordinator for Hillel.

Jessica has always believed in the entertainment industry as a way to serve the community. She seeks to bring her people- first management style and passion for technical curiosity to the forefront of her work.
