Emily Yago is originally from the always sunny Valencia, California. Growing up in elementary school, theatre became an outlet for her zany and playful self-expression. She credits her role as Edwina in Dear, Edwina as the pivotal moment she found her outlet. It wasn’t until middle school when she realized acting could be a career! Huzzah! Fast forward to her time at CMU, Emily has learned so much about not only her artistry but herself as a person. Her roles as Maeve in The Grown-Ups and Matt in Matt & Ben have fed her quirky sense of self and humor. Emily hopes to be fluent in American Sign Language, as she is completely fascinated by the visual beauty that the hands and face can create to tell a story. You know Emily is truly happy when she’s dancing to all different genres of music. In her career, Emily hopes to dive into theater, as well as tv and film, allowing her to learn about many different life experiences, and understand how to tell those stories.
