Caifeng Hong is a costume designer and illustrator with a background in fashion design. She earned her BFA from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing in 2020, where she developed a strong interest in blending design with storytelling and audience interaction.

Her past projects include Mirror, an immersive VR theater experience, and If We Are in 2090, a short film featuring biodegradable, plastic-like garments addressing microplastic pollution. She has also designed for In Time and Microplastic Invasion Strategy, both immersive performance experiences, as well as Candle, a traditional Chinese theater piece.

In the summer of 2024, she worked at the Santa Fe Opera as a millinery and dressing apprentice, serving as the costume designer and craft lead for La Cenerentola in the apprentice scenes.At Carnegie Mellon University, she designed costumes for Lear and John Proctor is the Villain, and was a featured artist in Phipps Conservatory’s Flowers Meet Fashion: Inspired by Billy Porter. In 2025, she was honored as an Elizabeth Schrader Kimberly Fellow.
