Zach has been with CMU since 2021. He oversees all of the audio equipment for the School of Drama’s productions, teaches the sound stagecraft class, and leads students in the installation and implementation of sound systems for all productions.


Zach Brown is a graduate of Point Park University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Technical Theatre/Design. After moving back home from Philadelphia where he was sound and video engineer for the Wilma Theatre and a freelance sound designer, he has continued to design for Pittsburgh companies including shows for CLO, City Theatre, Pittsburgh Playhouse, and New Hazlett Theatre. In addition to sound design/engineering, Zach is head rigger for the Petersen Events Center and has been a rigger/stagehand with IATSE Local 3 for the past eight years.
