Sayantee Sahoo
Sayantee Sahoo is a graduate of Yale University’s David Geffen School of Drama’s Technical Design and Production (TD&P) program and the National School of Drama (New Delhi, India), in Theatre Technique & Design. In the US, she has worked at Shakespeare & Co. (Lenox, MA), Hypokrite (New York, NY), and the Sitka Fine Arts Camp (Sitka, AK).
She was recently engaged as the Production Manager for Theatre and Media at BRIC, NYC – the public access producer for the borough of Brooklyn. From 2018 to 2020, Sayantee was the Production Manager for the 52nd St. Project in NYC, where she worked with school students and young adults in the Hell’s Kitchen area of the city through acclaimed after-school programs that focus on new writings and play production. She also served as technical director for the Project’s Five Angels Theatre.
In India, Sayantee freelanced as a technical artist and manager at festivals and organizations like the Bharat Rang Mahotsav, ITFoK, Vivadi Collective, The Grand Circus, Shadow Mime, Eklavya, Blind Opera (Kolkata), and others. She has been a member of the theater group Uhinee Kolkata, based in West Bengal, India, since 2008, where she has worked in various roles including as a creative director, workshop instructor, and designer.
