Mindy Eshelman
Los Angeles based throughout most of her career, Mindy brings her vast experience in film, television, and commercial design back to Carnegie Mellon where she earned her MFA in Costume and Scenic Design.
She has designed for film and television throughout the United States and internationally. She began working in indie projects with directors Abel Ferrara and Quentin Tarantino and then designed such films as OFFICE SPACE and WHERE THE HEART IS. She has collaborated in many genres of television and cable, designing with directors George Clooney, Todd Field, Mike Judge and Bob Rafelson among others. Her work appears in hundreds of commercials including award-winning campaigns for ADIDAS (Ali vs Laila) and VOLKSWAGEN (The Force). COCA-COLA, AUDI, NIKE, VISA, APPLE, NBA are a few of her many clients.
As Associate Professor in Costume Design, Mindy teaches courses in design for dance and film along with a course in conjunction with The Carnegie Museum of Art exploring their collection using recycled, unconventional materials. She teaches the History of Clothing and how dress mirrors the world in which it was created, for which she is a 2019 Wimmer Faculty Fellow. She recently designed Quantum Theater’s THE ODYSSEY and the feature film, DEAR ZOE.
