Our work is in the heart.
Lucas Fedele
Lucas teaches Dance in the School of Drama. He frames the development of classical techniques and participation in oral traditions as means to an end of embodied dramatic expression while employing consent-based, anti-racist, and trauma-sensitive practices.
Lucas is an artist devoted to the vitalization of theatre. Sworn by his mentors to pass it down, Mr. Fedele has inspired a broad spectrum of students for twenty years, including teaching masterclasses and lectures for New York University, Point Park University, and Slippery Rock University. They have been a Visiting Instructor for Point Park University’s International Summer Dance program, faculty at the Pittsburgh CLO Academy, and were formerly an Adjunct Teacher at Pittsburgh CAPA.
On creative teams, Lucas has developed a variety of new work and reimagined classic musicals in New York and Pittsburgh. He served as Assistant Choreographer to Billy Porter for the Pittsburgh premiere of POP! at City Theatre and has reconstructed Bob Fosse’s, Michael Bennett’s, Michael Peters’, and Susan Stroman’s staging and choreography as associate of mentors Lenora Nemetz, Danny Herman, and Tomé Cousin.
His performance career includes film, television, Broadway national tours, concert dance works, and scores of regional productions—most notably Arena Stage’s inaugural OKLAHOMA! directed by mentor Molly Smith. A Pittsburgh native, they have appeared in more than a dozen mainstage productions for both Pittsburgh Musical Theater and the Pittsburgh CLO, where they won the Julia Deberson Award in 2014.
Lucas is a member of Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and the National Dance Education Organization. He holds a Beginner Diploma from Theatrical Intimacy Education and a BA in Dance cum laude from Point Park University. Visit him at lfedele.com for more.
