Collin McCormack

As Media Manager, Collin guides students into the world of video, shaping them to be good stage hands as they prepare for their own careers in the entertainment industry.

Collin brings more than two decades of experience in video and live event production, with a career that spans roles in corporate media, higher education, and freelance creative services. Most recently, he served as the Video Engineer for the Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco CA, which celebrated its 88th season.

Throughout his career, Collin has consistently prioritized mentorship and team development. He has hired, trained, and managed internal production teams and external contractors, fostering collaborative environments that elevate both technical execution and creative storytelling.
His background includes work as a camera operator, lighting designer, technical director, and systems engineer. He has hands-on experience in AV technologies, video editing, animation, and custom software development. He’s managed studio teams, mentored creatives, and built production infrastructure from the ground up, all with a focus on storytelling, collaboration, and technical excellence.

A native of upstate New York and most recently based in Santa Clara, CA, Collin now calls Pittsburgh PA his home. He holds a BA in Communication Broadcasting with a Film Studies minor from SUNY Brockport.
