Ted Danson is an American actor best known for his role as Sam Malone on the hit TV series “Cheers” (1982–1993), which earned him multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Globe nominations. He later starred in “The Good Place” (2016–2020), where his portrayal of the character Michael received widespread acclaim. He can currently be seen on the new Netflix comedy “A Man on the Inside,” for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe. Danson received the Carol Burnett Award at the 82nd Golden Globes. He earned his BFA from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in 1972 and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts in 2018. His career spans both comedy and drama, with notable roles in films and television shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Fargo. Outside of acting, he is a passionate advocate for environmental issues.
