Production Technology
Integrating Imagination
The School of Drama’s recently created Production Technology program has been uniquely designed around the need for flexibility within the technical areas supporting time-based design elements. Working cross-disciplinarily, students who study production technology are prepared to enter the field at high levels as lighting technicians, programmers, managers, audio engineers, system designers, and network integrators.
Production Technology Curriculum
Students receive individualized curriculum within the program, allowing them to create a customized path that leads to their overall learning objectives and career goals. This type of specialized training is rare in theatrical higher education and positions students well as they enter the field. Students also have access to classes in other top-notch programs on campus, such as robotics, computer science, and engineering.

Student Work
Production Technology students have the opportunity to work in various capacities on productions, including light and sound technicians, managers, and programmers. Pictured here are students working on lighting, sound, and media during technical rehearsal for the School of Drama’s production of “this old haunt.”
