Joshua Brown is from the sunny skies of Orlando, Florida— where everything is bright, humid, and just on the edge of a storm. Coming from a family of professional athletes, it was assumed that he would be a sports prodigy, but he was much more interested in picking flowers out of the grass than running to home base. His training at Carnegie Mellon University shaped a commitment to grounded, truthful storytelling—and a desire to reflect the complex world around him. He is particularly inspired by Black and queer stories, telling them with vulnerability, nuance, and ferocity. When he’s not on stage, Joshua can be found in the kitchen cooking dinner for his friends, or singing his heart out to Beyoncé on a late night drive.
