Sarah Shechtman
Sarah is thrilled to be a member of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama team as Director of Recruitment and Enrollment! Originally from New England, Sarah previously served as Assistant Director of Admissions and Theater Division Representative at Boston Conservatory at Berklee for 8 years. She is excited to continue combining her love for theater with her passion for guiding young artists in higher education.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory. As a performer, she was nominated for an ArtsImpulse Award for her performance as Cis in Boston Opera Collaborative’s Albert Herring. Other operatic roles include Emily (Our Town), Little Red (Little Red’s Most Unusual Day), Dew Fairy (Hansel and Gretel) and Lisette (La Rondine). Sarah also had a private voice studio in Boston, teaching students classical and musical theater vocal technique.
When not recruiting, Sarah enjoys being a patron of the arts, drinking coffee and raising her 7-pound dog, Cashew!
